The Listed Awarding Body Scheme will be opened on a phased basis. Awarding bodies are not required to apply at the time outlined below but an application from an awarding body will only be accepted after the relevant phase has opened.  

If an awarding body considers that there is a particular urgency for their awards to be included in the NFQ, please email labs@qqi.ie outlining your rationale. 

• Phase 1: September 2024 – invited applications only.  
• Phase 2: September 2025 (expected) – Domestic professional bodies and domestic higher education bodies. 
• Phase 3: September 2026 (expected) – Remaining higher education bodies. 
• Phase 4:  June 2027 (expected) – Further and vocational education bodes (domestic and international).  
• Phase 5: September 2028 (expected) – any remaining applicants.
