Peer Learning Activity Update: Taking learning forward - Comparisons from pilots with EQF
QQI is a member of the ‘third country comparison’ working group of the EQF Advisory Group resulting in comparisons against the EQF for Ukraine, Cabo Verde and the South African Development Community (SADC). Comparisons are different in status and purpose than referencing reports; they are nonetheless very helpful as recognition and developmental purposes accelerate in demand, complexity and nuance.
Having completed two country and one region to region comparison, a ‘Peer Learning Activity’ was hosted by the European Training Foundation (ETF) in collaboration with the European Commission, reflecting both on the process, learning and expectations for different stakeholders.
Andrina Wafer attended, presenting on our global relationships in the context of our National Framework of Qualifications. The QQI contribution focused particularly on the principles of approach and in the mutual openness and transparency of the partners. QQI has a range of Memoranda of Understanding internationally, motivated by different purposes, informed by the EQF and importantly by quality assurance arrangements.
Our learning and practice in the investment of the quality of relationships as platforms for deeper learning was helpful even over the duration of the PLA as ‘communities of interest’ quickly surfaced for example, in developed RPL toolkits across the SADC region.
