First meeting of Thematic Peer Group A: Qualifications Frameworks

27–03–2025

Thematic Peer Group A (TPG-A) on Qualifications Frameworks met for the first time under the Bologna Follow Up Group (BFUG) Work Programme 2024-2027. The group is chaired by France, Georgia and Latvia and the meeting was held in Riga on Friday 21 March.

QQI represents Ireland on the group and Órla Barry is the nominated rep. The main objective of the group is to give members opportunities for exchange of experience and peer learning concerning the development of qualifications frameworks in higher education.

A number of themes have been chosen for the project including: self certification to QF-EHEA, recognition of cross-border education and joint programmes, study programmes outside of the Bologna three-cycle structure, databases and registers of qualifications reflecting QFs, automatic recognition and qualifications frameworks for flexibility of learning.

A number of peer learning activities will be arranged during the project to address these themes.
