On 29 April 2025, QQI will host a quality enhancement webinar focused on the learner voice in further education and training (FET). This session will delve into the benefits and challenges of involving learners in quality assurance governance structures.

Our line-up of speakers includes:

  • Dr Claire Carney, Vice Principal Student Experience, City of Glasgow College
  • Rachael Sarsfield Ryan, Development Coordinator with NStEP
  • Ciarán Kennedy, Community Education Facilitator for Wellbeing, Tipperary ETB
  • Lorraine Downey, Head of Learner Support and Engagement Service, City of Dublin ETB

Dr Carney, the keynote speaker, will discuss the journey of Scotland’s colleges and universities in implementing the new Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework (TQEF), which focuses on student engagement and partnership. She will highlight the benefits of the Student Learning Experience Model, and the Student Partnership Ambition embedded in the framework. This enhancement-led system aims to improve the learning experience for Scotland’s students.

Attendees will also have the chance to hear from learners who have actively participated in QA initiatives within their ETBs.

This is a valuable opportunity to learn from, and engage with experts in the field.
